Name, Image, and Likeness Disclosure Form
Role: Product Designer
Overview
Opendorse is a sports technology company specializing in making athletes more accessible to the people who support them.
Project Brief
Name, image and, likeness (NIL) rights are new to college sports and is growing at a rapid rate. In January 2021, we were tasked with rapidly developing a safe and intuitive way for athletes to disclose their sponsorships to their universities, conferences and the NCAA. We were pressed for time as we had to get a workable solution available for student athletes by June 1.
In addition to designing a consumer facing mobile app, I led design for the corresponding enterprise app for universities and other institutions to monitor and track sponsorship details for student athletes.
Wireframes
We started by talking with student athletes and learning about their busy schedules between classes, practice and everyday life. We needed to come up with a dynamic and mobile friendly solution easy enough for student athletes to disclose their sponsorship information on the go. Sketching a dynamic form concept began utilizing Invision. We wanted to make sure the form was simple, intuitive and guided the user along the way as they progressed to disclose their sponsorship details.
Prototype
Prototyping began quickly after sketching out wireframes and showing them to clients for feedback. I utilized Figma to rapidly develop high fidelity prototypes for developer hand-off. I used Figma’s great prototyping feature to share designs with key stakeholders and test key scenarios with with student athletes, potential business sponsors and university athletic directors.
Results
Shipped a fully functional app on time and budget for student athletes to disclose their sponsorship details to all the necessary parties involved.
