Real Estate Marketplace

Role: Product Designer

Agency: Viagio Technologies

Project Brief

The real estate investments industry is rapidly evolving. Our goal was to disrupt the investment industry with a next generation marketplace to unlock opportunities in real estate and other secondary investment markets.

Research & Analysis

I started by talking with fund sponsors, financial advisors, and investors to learn about their day-to-day workflows and pain points. After interviewing a handful of users, I created three key personas, and mapped out their respective journey map so that our client could better understand how their users would be using their investment marketplace.

Wireframes

After learning about their users, I quickly began sketching out some potential concepts and key workflows in Invision. This was one of the most fun parts of the project because I had the opportunity to collaborate and bounce ideas off of their CTO. After a few rough drafts of home dashboards, portfolio views and marketplace interactions, I started creating high fidelity prototypes.

Prototype

Once again I utilized Figma to create and deliver high fidelity prototypes to stakeholders and engineers for development. One of the key learnings from potential investors was that they wanted ways to better understand what they were investing in. Since they’re investing in physical real estate properties, I wanted to highlight funds with visually appealing hero images to help connect investors to the investment.

Results

Delivered high fidelity prototypes and user research to the CEO, CTO, and board members of a well funded Series A startup. After they successfully secured funding, I handed off my designs for development. One thing, I was extremely proud of was creating their first design system for their future designers and engineers to use.

Learnings

  • The financial and real estate services market moves so quick and is very exciting industry to be in

  • Get close to the users and quickly understand the pain points they’re facing
